Frequently Asked Questions

My dog is really energetic/shy/doesn't sit still. Can you still get good photos?

Absolutely! This is one of the most common concerns, and honestly, it's what I specialize in. My approach is all about allowing your dog to be themselves. We embrace their natural energy and quirks. If they're a zoomie enthusiast, we'll capture those fantastic action shots! If they're a bit shy, we'll take our time, work patiently, and let them get comfortable at their own pace. I never force a pose; instead, I observe and capture those authentic moments.

What should I bring to the photoshoot?

Please bring plenty of your dog's favourite treats (high-value ones are best!), their most exciting toys to get their attention, a bowl for water, and a lead (preferably a thin one, as these are easier to edit out!).

Where do you typically do photoshoots?

Gloucestershire offers so many fantastic locations! I love shooting in natural environments where dogs can explore freely. Popular spots include Crickley Hill, Pittville Park in Cheltenham, or various local woodlands and open fields. We can discuss your dog's favourite walking spots or find a new picturesque location that suits their personality and energy levels. Safety and your dog's comfort are always my top priority when choosing a location.

Can I be in the photos with my dog?

Yes, of course! I absolutely encourage it. The bond between you and your dog is incredibly special, and those interactions make for truly heartwarming images. We can capture a mix of your dog on their own and beautiful portraits of you together.

My dog can't be off-lead. Is that a problem?

Not at all! Many of the stunning, distraction-free images you see are actually taken with the dog on a lead. Thanks to my post-processing skills in Adobe Photoshop, I can often carefully remove leads from images, making it look as though your dog was off-lead and completely free. Your dog's safety is paramount, so if they need to stay on the lead, that's perfectly fine.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day of our outdoor shoot?

The unpredictable British weather is something we always plan for! If it's heavy rain or unusually bad conditions that would prevent us from getting beautiful images (and your dog from being comfortable), we will absolutely reschedule your session at no additional cost. Overcast days, however, often provide beautiful soft light, so don't worry about a lack of sunshine!
